TagScanner Interface
If you have a large number of miscellaneous audio files and would like a good piece of freeware for tag editing and cataloging, have a look at TagScanner. There is a new beta version of the 5.0 release.

TagScanner is the work of Sergey Serkov, and offers a great deal of tools for maintaining your collection of audio files. It supports the most common file formats such as mp3, flac, ogg, aac, and more. It supports a host of tag formats like ID3 1.0 to 2.4(including attached images and lyrics), ape, and vorbis comments. Tags can be auto generated with some information from the folders the files are in, the case can be changed, and a host more options. The audio files themselves can be renamed based on a set of criteria as well, such as the tag information. Information can be searched from freedb. Suffice it to say, there is a great deal of options.

TagScanner HTML PlaylistTagScanner can also export playlists in several formats. You can export to html, excel, or csv so you can populate a MySQL database for example.

Tagscanner Beta is available at BetaNews.
