
Interested in a new keyboard for your computer? Want to have one with all the bells and whistles? Perhaps the Optimus Maximus keyboard will peak your interest. What is so special about this you may ask? Well, how about the ability to display color video on every key on the keyboard. That’s right, color video on every key. You see, each key on the thing has a OLED display built in. The keys feature a 48×48 pixel, 10.1mm, 65,536 color display. They are capable of displaying at a minimum of 10 fps, depending on how many keys you have animated. It is connected to the computer via USB 2.0 cable, and has a SD slot for storing your display configuration. It is completely customizable with the supplied software.
The price tag attached is a whopping $1564.37 US at the time of this post. The first batch of 200 is sold out, with another batch of 200 expected at the end of the year. There is scheduled to be a batch of 400 ready in January of 2008.
