IE versus Firefox Lampooned

November 9th, 2006 · No Comments

With the recent releases of Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla Firefox 2, the ongoing battle between the two browsers was brought back into the spotlight. The reports of the number of downloads each had received promoted by both Microsoft and Mozilla. And now some third party members have decided to have a little fun with the situation.

There has been talk of two particular websites that were poking fun the situation by claiming that Microsoft had bought Firefox. This would indeed be big news. The two sites in question are MSFirefox.net and MSFirefox.com They both manage to have a laugh at what some comment on concerning Microsoft and their history of crushing/buying up competition.

MSFirefox.net emphasizes, among other things, the latest fake Microsoft acquisition being able to download pornography significantly faster as well as the improvements in multimedia brought out by the “AKobe Phlash(TM) Plugin” complete with pending lawsuit. The latter improvement being an obvious play on Adobe Flash technology, in which Adobe recently made headlines by donating code to Firefox.

MSFirefox.com is no longer available at this time.

It is nice to have a break from the serious side of the battle between the two browsers.
