How To Make Google Default Search Provider In IE7

IE7 Google Search

The search bar that is integrated with Firefox has been a tremendous help in my web surfing. Internet Explorer 7 has added a similar search capability, but by default offers only the Microsoft Live Search. Fortunately adding Google or your search engine of choice is quite easy.

The first step is to click the little down arrow on the end of the search entry area, and click “Find More Providers…”. This will open a page with a good selection of providers to pick from, with Google bing one of them. Click on Google and a dialog box will pop up. Check the “Make this my default search provider” if you are interested and finally click “Add Provider”.

There, you are done. That was easy, wasn’t it?
